Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
Sometimes, despite all our best intentions and years of therapy, nothing seems to work. In cases like this, I am deeply inspired and humbled by the impact that Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) has had for clients who have spent sometimes decades in traditional talk therapy.
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a relatively new, holistic form of therapy that combines the use of a short acting psychiatric medication paired with psychotherapy treatment. It has been highly effective for various emotional conditions for many clients.

In the last several decades, KAP has been found to be an effective treatment for depression, alcoholism, substance dependencies, PTSD, and other psychiatric diagnosis as well as for existential, psychological, and spiritual crises and growth (Khorramzadeh and Lotfy, Psychosomatics 1973).

One of the most significant benefits of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is its ability to allow for deep emotional insights and transformations when paired with dedicated psychotherapy sessions. When the mind is in an altered state due to ketamine's psychoactive properties, clients often find it easier to access and work with emotions, traumas, or deeply rooted fears.
I have seen that emotional barriers that seemed impenetrable in traditional therapy can suddenly become workable with KAP combined with Internal Family Systems therapy. The combination allows for a new level of insight, internal self compassion, and curiosity, instead of inner conflict. Being together in a secure and calming therapeutic setting, receiving therapy with the enhancement of the medication, allows for revelations that are both safe and guided. This seems to support longed-for changes to be fully processed, and to last over time.
